Direct Support Staff - Seasonal
Safe Haven Winter Shelter provides a low-barrier, low-demand environment for adults experiencing homelessness who have no other options for shelter and would otherwise be staying on the street.
Direct Support Staff is responsible for maintaining an emotionally and physically safe and supportive environment for shelter guests and ensuring guests have access to basic accommodations and services.
Ahana House Resident Assistant
The role of the Resident Assistant is to ensure residents are receiving quality care and assistance. This role will communicate daily with residents, coworkers, and community providers.
Direct Support Staff-
IPH’s Emergency Shelter and Medical Respite Shelter in Albany serve individuals experiencing a broad range of challenges, including poverty, mental health, and substance use disorders, medical challenges, and legal issues. IPH’s Direct Support Staff oversees the operation of the shelters and provide supportive services to shelter guests on the weekends and outside of regular business hours.

The Program Support Assistant is responsible for supporting the departments and staff housed at 317
Sheridan Avenue, including Healthy Connections, Human Resources, and IPH Housing.
Shelter Case Manager South Ferry Street
IPH South Ferry Shelter operates two shelter programs from one location: a 17-bed Medical Respite Program and an 11-bed emergency shelter. The Shelter Case Manager provides direct care to shelter guests, maintaining a caseload of 10-15 adults. The Case Manager is responsible for providing strength-based, trauma-informed, holistic, and comprehensive services to support positive outcomes for shelter guests.
Ahana House is a licensed 17 bed Adult Home for individuals who are homeless. Residents enjoy a private bedroom and share spacious common areas as well as meals and activities. The role of the Cook is to provide guidance to the Ahana House residents regarding the development of healthy meal choices. Additionally, the Cook will consult with Ahana House Staff regarding residents’ dietary needs, monthly weights, and allergies.

The mission of IPH Housing is to provide permanent housing to people experiencing homelessness, and offer case management services that prioritize client choice, empathy, and optimism
