Ahana House Resident Assistant​


Position Summary:

The role of the Resident Assistant is to ensure residents are receiving quality care and assistance. This role will communicate daily with residents, coworkers, and community providers. The Resident
Assistant creates and maintains a positive, healthy, and safe atmosphere for residents, staff, and visitors. The Resident Assistant will assist with maintaining cleanliness of the house, serve meals, and ensure access to household needs.


Position Summary

Safe Haven winter shelter. Safe Haven provides a low-barrier, low-demand environment for adults experiencing homelessness who have no other options for shelter and would otherwise be staying on the street. Safe Haven’s harm reduction approach ensures the most vulnerable members of the community have a safe, supportive place to sleep and be out of the elements, regardless of substance use/active addictions, mental illness, medication adherence, or other challenges that often limit shelter options.

Direct Support Staff


Position Summary

IPH’s Emergency Shelter and Medical Respite Shelter in Albany serve individuals experiencing a broad range of challenges, including poverty, mental health, and substance use disorders, medical challenges, and legal issues. IPH’s Direct Support Staff oversees the operation of the shelters and provide supportive services to shelter guests on the weekends and outside of regular business hours.

The Custodian, under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, is responsible for maintaining the facilities in a clean and sanitary condition while observing all health and safety guidelines. Custodial tasks include cleaning, landscaping, mowing, snow removal, stocking/replenishing supplies, etc. at multiple IPH buildings/locations in Albany.
